Initial Consultation - What to Bring?
The first step to obtaining your bankruptcy discharge is to schedule an appointment for an initial consultation. At this first visit we will discuss your situation and determine if bankruptcy is a good option for you. We will also discuss any non-bankruptcy options that may appear appropriate in your situation, and we will discuss the costs and fees involved in filing.
Please plan on bringing the following documents with you to your first appointment along with a completed copy of this financial analysis form (if a husband and wife will be filing together, please bring the following for both of you):
- Driver's license and your social security card
- Copies of the past 7 months of paystubs or proof of income (or a printout from your employer showing the details of each check)
- Copies of any lawsuits and/or garnishments to which you have been a party in the last year
- The original, or copies, of any bills that you owe
- A completed Financial Analysis Form from this website or the information necessary for us to complete the form
- A copy of your last two filed federal tax returns.
Even if you are unable to bring all of these documents, we can still advise you on what options are available to you. The documents are necessary before we actually file your case; however, we can discuss your options without them. Completing the Financial Analysis Form will speed up the process of your first consultation.
